One day Tom traveled by train to some place which had not been well developed. There was one part of the railway which bent sharply, and when the train came near to this part, it had to slow down. When the train slowed down, the passengers caught sight of an ordinary house, which was facing the railway bend. The house was quite ordinary in itself, but it attracted the passengers’ attention because there were no other houses near by in the vast area. Tom was also impressed by the house. He got off the train atthe nearest station and managed to find the owner of the house. The owner of the house told Tom that the noise of the train had caused a lot of trouble for him. He told Tom that he wanted to sell the house, but nobody would like to buyit. Three days later Tom bought the house for only 20,000 dollars, for no one else wanted to buy it. He then tried his best to persuade some big companies to rent the house. He told the companies that they could put their advertisements on it. Finally a big company decided to pay Tom 200,000 dollars for a three year rent.

It was Tom’s first visit to London. He decided to ride on the underground railway of London. He entered the station shortly after five o’clock in the afternoon. This was a bad time to travel in London, because crowds of people were going home from work at this hour. So he had to join a long queue of people who were waiting for tickets. When at last his turn came, he bought a ticket. With the ticket, Tom went to the platform.The platform was also very crowed, so he did not manage to get on the first train. He had to wait for the next one. When the second train came in, Tom got on it. The door of the train closed and the train moved off. The train was so crowded that Tom was unable to see the names of the stations where the train stopped, but he knew that his station was on the sixth stop along the line.When the train reached the sixth station, Tom got off the train. But when he saw the name of the station, he suddenly realized that he had caught a train going in the opposite direction.
