“This is Maya‘s secret ”. Hilda said with a big smile. Puzzled but curious, Katherine moved close to those items and found that they were wastes such as cling film, paper bags, and so on. Pointing at the filter box in the back of the tank, Hilda explained to Katherine why these items were hidden underwater without being discovered. It was due to their flat and thin shapes that they were able to stay in the chinks of the box for a long time and haven t been cleared.Thanks to the keen sense of smell of Maya, she successfully found out where the garbage was and tried to inform people of the fact in her own way.
Now Katherine realized what had been going on. Knowing that she had misunderstood Hilda,Katherine's face flushed with embarrassment.Holding Hilda's hands tightly, Katherine looked into Hilda's eyes with newfound respect and said,“Thank you, Hilda. I owe you an apology.”“No apologies necessary," said Hilda with a grin, “it just reminds me to be more careful in the future." After listening to their conversation, Maya leaped out of the water and drew a beautiful arc, as if she felt happy for such an ending as well. From then on,Hilda and Katherine became friends. They paid more attention to the intelligent animal and took care of her more carefully. It was Maya who brought the relationship between the two people closer.
