选项中照抄原文的一般不是答案项，而同义替换的一般是选项。
选项中表达意义较具体的、肤浅的一般不是答案项，而概括性的、抽象的、含义深刻的是答案项。
选项中较符合常识的，易明白的一般不是选项；而似乎不太合理，一时较难理解的往往正确。
总而言之，从语言精确度原则出发。把英语当成语言而不是学科。英语的本质是用以沟通、展示信息。而不要当成一门研究用的学科。英语的语言特点是客观、精确，不是由词来决定句子，而是由句子来决定词汇，因此，答题时一切从表达意思出发。
水平不够时（单词量少、语法不好）如何阅读？把陌生词用A、B、C、D或其他符号替代，根据所在位置大概判断它是“东西”还是“动作”，标示即可。
能够读懂的就尽量读懂，读不懂的放着，根据选项来判定。
比较选项：英语选择题明确说明选出一个最佳选项而不是得出正确结论，因此，选择出错可能最小的选项，哪怕你什么意思都看不懂，但是从选项中，把带有十分肯定、否定的句子先排除，把虚、大、全的选项留下。英语阅读中的文章主旨大意题的范围最大原则就是如此产生的。
